The goal of this project was to create an abstract, two-dimensional depiction of a real-life object through the use of various drawing techniques and visual elements. For this project, I opted to illustrate a necklace featuring a gold chain and pearl medallion. In the final phase, I focused on creating depth in the composition, intertwining chains in a cascading spiral around an abstracted form of the pearl. Employing hatching to highlight the metallic surface of the chain and stippling to render the pearl’s texture, I utilized watercolor markers to establish a gradient of light-to-dark values.
